In Abu Dhabi, engine bay temperatures regularly cross 70°C in summer. Heat evaporates battery electrolyte and accelerates internal corrosion, which is why batteries here last 18–30 months instead of 4–5 years.
The 7 warning signs
1. Slow cranking. The engine turns over sluggishly, especially on the first morning start.
2. Dim headlights at idle. Lights brighten when you rev — a classic weak-battery symptom.
3. Battery warning light. Never ignore it; it can mean battery or alternator trouble.
4. Electrical glitches. Power windows slow down, infotainment restarts randomly.
5. Swollen battery case. Heat damage — replace immediately.
6. Rotten-egg smell. Leaking electrolyte; this battery is dangerous.
7. Age over 2 years. In UAE conditions, test any battery older than 24 months every few months.
